(West Yellowstone) – The Custer-Gallatin National Forest reports that the West Fork Fire, 23 Miles Northwest of West Yellowstone is now 40% contained with 122 people fighting the fire.
Crews are focusing their efforts on the southern section of the fire as it continues to grow with wind driven runs, short range spotting, and flanking through the timber and brush.
Roads and Trails in the fire area are still closed, and a temporary flight restriction is still in effect for drones and private aircraft. A cause for the fire still has not been determined.
