When Can Hill County Taxpayers Expect to Receive Information on the Dollar Amount they will have to Pay Extra.

(Havre) – With the Montana Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of the 95 Mill levy that will affect property and homeowners in the future. New Media Broadcasters sat down with Jake Strissel one of the Hill County Commissioners to ask when people can expect to receive the bill for the portion of the mills that wasn’t paid.

“We’re working tirelessly, Sandy is doing an amazing job and she’s working with us on trying to get that figured out and we understand this is a huge increase after property taxes and everything went up this year and we understand that people probably need to budget for this, they need to figure out how they’re going to do this. I think that’s on the forefront of every tax paying Hill County resident’s mind. So, it our goal to get that information out as soon as possible before that May 31st deadline so that way people can appeal it or whatever they want to do with it, but the biggest thing is getting that information out to them as soon as possible but having the most accurate information too and that takes time. So, we’re doing everything we can to try and get that information out to taxpayers. “
