WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, Mont. (NMB) – A 70-year-old man from White Sulphur Springs was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Meagher County on Monday afternoon.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 12:10 PM on US Highway 12 at mile marker 28. The man was driving a Jeep Cherokee eastbound and failed to negotiate a curve on a hillcrest. The vehicle left the south side of the roadway, overcorrected, re-entered and exited on the right side again. The vehicle rolled for approximately 100 yards before coming to rest in an upright position.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Alcohol, drugs or excessive speed are all not suspected factors in the crash. The road was clear and dry.
