(Havre) – With the holidays approaching and people looking for gift ideas we sat down with Peter Feberspeil (feder sp eel) the Animal Control Officer for the city of Havre about what animal is popular to get in Havre.
“Recently it’s been cats, I’m kind of surprised by that we have both puppies and kittens here in the shelter along with both adult cats and dogs but for the holidays it seems like the kittens are the most popular.”
We also ask if the popularity of cats is because of renter animal policies.
“I do think that is an issue. I don’t want to say that cats are easier to care for, but they adapt a little bit better to small spaces, apartments, things like that. a lot of the landlords are allowing one animal. The smaller animal or cat can go better.”
