Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks today kickstarted the two-day Youth Deer Hunt, which coincides with the annual 2-day teachers’ convention which are no-school days for most students. Marc Kloker of the FWP dives into more detail of who can participate.
“What it is, is [sic] basically is we have what’s called the youth deer hunt. So basically, only youth ages 10 to 15 if they’re properly licensed either through apprentice hunter or graduate from hunter’s education, can hunt ahead of the general deer season.”
This hunt is for deer only. Elk hunting is prohibited, and all regulations still apply.
