U.S. SENATE (NMB) – As part of his ongoing efforts to help Montana recover from last spring’s historic flooding, U.S. Senator Jon Tester helped secure a grant for the Montana Department of Transportation to help fix roads damaged in those floods.
The grant, worth nearly $18 million, was awarded by the Federal Highway Administration and will fund the repair and reconstruction of flood-damaged highways and roads across the state.
Tester said, “Last year’s flooding did real damage to Montana’s roads and infrastructure. These resources will help boost jobs and repair the damage, making travel safer and keeping our communities open for business.”
Tester helped secure grants for projects in Hill County, including US Highway 2 erosion repair and bank stabilization, and Montana Secondary Highway 448 culvert replacement.
