CASCADE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 53-year-old man and 54-year-old woman from Windsor, Colorado were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Cascade County on the afternoon of July 4th.
The crash occurred at about 5:51 PM at mile marker 88 of US-89 near Great Falls, when the Colorado man was driving a Kia Sorento westbound. The road was rain covered and the Kia hydroplaned into the eastbound traffic lanes where it collided with a Chevy Traverse being driven by a 29-year-old woman from Sand Coulee, Montana.
The collision was between the passenger side of the Kia and the front end of the Chevy, causing a T-bone crash.
The two Colorado residents in the Kia were wearing seatbelts and were pronounced deceased on scene.
The Sand Coulee woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol, drugs or speed were factors.
