281 Northern Students Set to Graduate Saturday

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Saturday, Montana State University-Northern will be hosting their 2019 graduation ceremonies in the Armory Gym on Campus. Chancellor Greg Kegel says they have a total of 281 students graduating this year and Matt Cronin will be this year’s speaker.

“We’re kind of crossing our fingers a little bit on the weather. After the ceremony’s over, we always have the tent set up and then we have different types of refreshments set up as a reception. And with the weather, we’re wondering if we’re going to have to move maybe indoors. But, one way or another, we’ll either have it in the tent on the courtyard or in the library.”

Kegel says that they don’t get much of a break on campus before summer classes start.

“Summer school, depending on the year, some years summer can be very busy here. Other times, it’s a little bit slower. I look at it as a time to start our projects. We’ve got, always, a ton of projects. You know, the physical part of the campus, the grooming part, the building part, the roof part.”

The processional will start at 10 AM on Saturday with a reception to follow.
