HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Labor (DLI) announced Monday, May 18 They have issued $55 million in Unemployment Insurance payments (UI) to Montanans during the week of May 11-15.
Acting Commissioner Brenda Nordlund said,”DLI remains focused on quickly and accurately processing claims to ensure Montanans receive their eligible benefits.”
During the first week of May, Hill County submitted 33 initial UI claims. This number is down by 48 claims when compared to the same week last month.
This month, 488 Hill County residents decided to continue their UI claims. This number is down by 24 when compared to the same week last month but is about seven times more than 2019’s May numbers.
Along with unemployment assistance and other compensation benefits, UI payments additionally include the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation of $600 a week.
Nordlund said, “These benefits continue to provide stability to our families and communities as we move through the phases of reopening.”
