GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks annually recognizes its instructors based on their years of service. A press release says FWP’s hunter education program annually graduates about 7,600 students who are taught by close to 1,300 volunteer instructors.
Some local volunteers who were recognized include Eugene Couch and Dillon Miller, both from Lewistown, who have each taught hunter’s education for ten years. Those recognized for teaching hunter’s education for fifteen years include Stan Huhtala from Chester, Deb Solum from Rudyard, and Tony Sinclair from Browning. Dean Schuler from Carter was recognized for his 20 years teaching hunter’s education.
Bruce Luhrsen from Lewistown and Michael Sherrard from Shelby were each recognized for 30 years of teaching.
Wilbert Hap Zahn from Roy was recognized for teaching hunter’s education for 40 years.
