Sentencing Delayed for Defendants in Burglary Ring Cases

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Sentencing for two defendants in cases related to a Hill County burglary ring have been moved back nearly two months.

Jaylen Crazyboy and Fabian Saddler, Jr. were scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday afternoon after previously agreeing to plea deals.

However, the prosecution and defense for both argued that they had not had enough time to look over the pre-sentencing investigation report and to potentially contest restitution charges.

The cases are related to a string of burglaries and thefts in the Havre area that occurred in 2019. This includes the burglaries at E-1 towing and John Deere.

The pre-sentencing investigation is sealed and not available to the public.

Crazyboy has pleaded guilty to the felonies of theft, theft by common scheme and engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise. His deal asks for the sentences for each felony to be seven years, with five suspended, and for the sentences to run concurrently.

In the agreement, Crazyboy admits to distributing methamphetamine in February 2019 as “part of a continuing series of two or more criminal violations,” and that he, “committed these violations in concert with at least five other persons, with respect to whom I was in the position of organizer, and from which I gained substantial income or resources.”

Saddler has pleaded guilty to the felonies of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. His deal asks for the sentences to each be six years deferred, and to also be run concurrently.

They both appeared in person in court on Tuesday after previously posting bail. They remain free until sentencing, provided they abide by their release conditions.

Evidentiary hearings and sentencing for both Crazyboy and Saddler will be held on July 1st at 1 PM.
