HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A man from Rocky Boy was arrested over the weekend on a litany of charges after authorities say he led them on a high-speed pursuit.

Louis Morsette, Jr., 21, was arrested early Sunday morning on charges including two counts of felony criminal endangerment.

Other charges Morsette is facing includes driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fleeing or eluding a Peace Officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing a Peace Officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, making false reports to law enforcement authorities, failure to carry proof of insurance and operating a motor vehicle without valid registration.

Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich says at 10:39 PM on Saturday night, officers received a report of a stolen 2008 Chevy Impala from Rocky Boy that may be traveling to Havre.

At 11:47 PM, officers located and attempted to stop the Impala at the 1100 block of 7th Street. Morsette failed to stop and began to elude.

Officers from the Havre Police Department and a Trooper from the Montana Highway Patrol pursued the vehicle as it traveled south onto the Beaver Creek Highway, at times driving well over 100 miles an hour.

When the pursuit reached Mountain View Road, the vehicle stopped and Morsette was arrested and transported to the Hill County Detention Center.

The one passenger in the vehicle was detained and later released.

No one was injured and the car did not suffer damage.

Morsette remains in the Hill County Detention Center.
