HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Health Board met online on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the latest details on their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Public Health Director Kim Larson and Health Officer Jessica Sheehy both said that with the increasing COVID-19 case count in Montana, it is a matter of when, not if, Hill County sees another case of the virus.
Larson and Sheehy also said that unlike other counties in Montana, they do not plan on issuing more stringent guidelines curbing reopening at this time, but that could change if new cases emerge locally.
They urged people to continue to social distance, wear masks when out in public and to avoid letting their guard down over the 4th of July weekend.
County Attorney Karen Alley said no formal citations have been issued to businesses for lack of compliance to COVID-19 directives, and Public Health Director Kim Larson said complaints have declined in recent days.
Bullhook Community Health Center CEO Kyndra Hall noted that free open COVID-19 testing will be available in Havre on July 8th from 10 AM to 2 PM at the west parking lot of Havre High School.
The Hill County Health Board will provide another update on their response to the COVID-19 pandemic during their previously scheduled quarterly meeting on July 15th.
