GLASGOW, Mont. (NMB) – Valley County is the latest spot on the Hi-Line to implement their own COVID-related restrictions.
The Valley County Board of Health held a special virtual meeting on Monday evening and unanimously approved a proposed Health Officer Order.
The Order limits the majority of social gatherings in Valley County to no more than 50 people.
Exceptions include:
- Houses of worship, which are capped at 75 percent capacity and must comply with social distancing and mask wearing rules
- Food service establishments that serve a population dependent on such food as its sole source of food (ex: school cafeterias, hospital and care facilities)
- Local school districts and affiliated activities
- Youth activities, which shall remain in compliance with the Governor’s directives
- Childcare facilities
Those found in violation are subject to criminal citation and a fine of up to $200.
The order takes effect at midnight and will remain in place through January 12th, 2021.
Also at the meeting, Valley County Health Director Lynn Miller provided an overall COVID update. As of Monday night, there are 45 active COVID cases in Valley County, including two newly reported cases on Monday. Total cases in Valley County are nearing 500 and six residents have suffered COVID-related deaths.
