HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission held their weekly business meeting on Thursday and voted unanimously to increase stipends for Rudyard Rural Ambulance Service volunteers, effective immediately.
The stipend for volunteers called to a death on arrival has increased from $25 to $125, and the stipend for volunteers that spend at least an hour for non-transport calls has increased from $25 to $75. All other stipends remain at the current rate, which was last increased in August 2020. This includes the $25 rate for non-transport calls with a duration of under an hour, $125 for patient transports, and $225 for patient transports to Great Falls.
The Commission says there is enough money in the budget to fund these increases.
Stipends are paid to individual volunteers, and at least two volunteers usually are dispatched to each call.
Also discussed at the meeting:
- The Commission announced that Deputy Election Administrator Kaci Hipple and Deputy Clerk and Recorder Bethany Jensen would be resigning, effective April 2nd. New Media Broadcasters has requested copies of the resignation letters in order to provide more details but has been told that they may not be made public because they contain personal information.
- The Commission approved a resolution naming Vice-Chair Diane McLean as the Environmental Certifying Official for the CDBG Grant project updating the wastewater system for RSID 21. This is a step that has to be taken for the grant to be allocated, since RSID 21 is in a flood plain. Public notice will go out and a public meeting on the project is set for April 26th at 6 PM at the Hill County Fairgrounds.
