HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – While cases of flu are increasing every week in Montana, about 2,000 fewer flu cases have been reported in the state than last year. Hill County Public Health Director Kim Larson says flu activity in the state is widespread, but Hill County is not experiencing a very bad flu season.
“Hill County’s at about 55 cases so far for this season. So, it’s not a real terrible flu season yet. Of course we are still in the middle of it. So, if you haven’t gotten a flu shot, get your flu shot, stay home when you’re sick, and then wash your hands frequently throughout the day.”
Larson says it is not too late for people to get a flu shot.
“We are out of flu shots here for the Health Department. And, we contacted the clinics and the pharmacies and they have more than enough to offer for the community, so we didn’t want to purchase anymore. But, the Family Medical Center and then all of our pharmacies still have quite a bit of flu.”
Larson encourages people to get vaccinated and says most medical centers and pharmacies in Havre still have the flu shot available.
