HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Family Connections and Raise Montana have joined forces to launch the new program called Childcare Connect Montana.
This service – which is starting out in Havre, Glendive, Glasgow, and Sidney -links fully, trained, quality substitute child care staff with area child care programs.
Tammy Phelps of Family Connections says the program is currently in search of part-time substitute caregivers.
“Maybe you have been in a career that you have recently retired from or you’re just working part-time, and are looking for a little something else to do. This is a situation where you can set your own hours…It might just be for a couple of hours, it might be for half a day, might be a couple of weeks for a caregiver or staff member to take a vacation. So if you’re interested as a caregiver, then you can text SUB to 59925 to apply.”
Applicants will go through training and a background check before being allowed to be a substitute caregiver.
“We’ll provide training, CPR first-aid, the necessary background checks, all of those pieces to allow you to become part of the sub list. Once we have some subs in place, then we’ll start recruting childcare programs who are looking for subs. Those programs, we’ll reach out to individually. Those will be licensed programs. They’ll have an online portal where they can go and request subs. That information will then go to subs in their area, and those subs can accept or decline those jobs.”
