MISSOULA, Mont. (NMB) – A 74-year-old Missoula man has died of injuries suffered in a two vehicle crash on Saturday morning.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 11:54 AM, when the man was driving a 2018 Chevy Malibu westbound on Mullan Road in Missoula. The Malibu crossed the center line and drove into the eastbound lane, striking a 2006 Toyota Tacoma head-on.
The driver of the Malibu was transported to a local hospital but passed away in the ER. It is not clear if he was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Tacoma, a 42-year-old woman from Missoula, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The passenger in the Tacoma, a 26-year-old man from Columbia Falls, was not injured. Both occupants of the Tacoma were wearing seatbelts.
The road was bare and dry at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
