Browning Man Admits Aggravated Sexual Abuse Crimes

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – A Browning man accused of sexually abusing two children on the Blackfeet Reservation admitted to multiple felonies in U.S. District Court on Tuesday.

Jonathan Cadotte, 60, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Cadotte admitted to engaging in a sexual act by force with one of the victims between September 2019 and September 2020, and admitted to engaging in a sexual act with the other, who was not yet 12-years-old, between 1993 to about 1998.

Cadotte faces a maximum of life in prison, but the plea agreement states that a sentence of 15 years would be appropriate.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided and set sentencing for December 8th. Cadotte was detained pending further proceedings.
