Body Recovered from Yellowstone River ID’d

BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – The Billings Gazette reports that the body of a man found in the Yellowstone River on Thursday morning near John Dover Memorial Park has been identified as 71-year-old Gary Mollet of Billings.

Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder says that the investigation is ongoing, but the autopsy did not show signs of foul play. They are now waiting on toxicology reports before specifying a cause of death.

Mollet’s body was discovered at around 10 AM on Thursday morning by crews building a bridge. The body, which is believed to have been in the river for a few hours, was removed from the water and taken to the Montana State Crime Lab.
