HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Nine State Attorneys General, including Montana’s Austin Knudsen, have filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration over an executive order issuing a COVID-vaccine mandate for federal contractors and federally contracted employees.
Knudsen has argued that the executive order, signed back on September 9th, is illegal because he says it violates several already issued laws and acts and is “an unconstitutional exercise of spending power.
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte has also spoken out about the executive order, saying it is “unenforceable” in Montana due to the recent passage of House Bill 702, which prohibits discrimination based on vaccine status in most settings. That law is facing two lawsuits.
