HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Police Department says a 16-year-old girl has been taken into custody and is being held at the Cascade County Juvenile Detention Center after a student reported a threat of a shooting at Havre High School on Wednesday.
Following the conclusion of the investigation, the threat was determined to be non-credible.
Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich says the suspect is facing a pending charge of felony intimidation, and that the case will be forwarded to Juvenile Probation and the Hill County Attorney’s Office.
Superintendent Craig Mueller says a student made administration aware of the potential threat at 2:30 PM.
Matosich says the threatening note indicated a shooting would occur near the end of the school day.
The Police Department assisted the District with gathering information and evidence and speaking with witnesses. The suspect was arrested after being interviewed by Officers.
School is in session as scheduled on Thursday.
