HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The bell that will be aboard the soon-to-be Commissioned USS Montana submarine made a stop in Havre on Wednesday.

The bell was showcased at MSU-Northern as part of a presentation from the USS Montana Committee, and it was rung three times to honor Veterans past, present and future.

The warship will be Commissioned on June 25th at the Norfolk Submarine Base in Virginia.

The ship is expected to be based in Hawaii and be a part of the Navy’s pacific fleet. The warship will feature historical and cultural displays of Montana. Spaces across the ship are named for places in Montana, and a panorama of Glacier National Park is in the mess hall.
