HARLEM, Mont. (NMB) – On Thursday, Harlem Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Arlene Bigby provided a statement to the community.
This comes after High School Social Studies Teacher Jack G. Young was arrested last Friday for alleged sex crimes against children, including sexual intercourse without consent.
The release says they are not able to share any information about the complaint or investigation due to confidentiality, so they ask the public to be patient.
Bigby says that they are doing what they can to address everyone’s concerns, and says the District initiated their Title IX complaint process as soon as they learned of the allegations.
Following their investigation, Bigby says the District will make a determination, which could include actions against an individual that violated the law and/or District policy.
Bigby says that anyone with further information should send in a written statement that is provided and supported by evidence.
Bigby says she understand this situation has been traumatic for many, and they are bringing in additional training and support from programs outside the school for both students and staff.
