HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission met Thursday morning for their weekly business meeting.

The commissioners first approved a contract between 4H and the County that would, among other things, define 4H costs to use the Bigger Better Barn and the horse barn as 15% of net proceeds.

The commission also approved the reception of a $10,000 grant for the Weed District from the Montana Department of Agriculture. The funding period of the grant would expire October 2023 and would cover spraying for weeds in 598 acres of the Sage Creek area of Hill County. In addition the grant would include land owner education of noxious and invasive weeds.

The Commission also announced Lou Hagener was appointed to the remainder of Nick Siebrasse’s park board position, which is set to end in April 2023
