WHITEFISH, Mont. (NMB) – The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office says that a Whitefish man was arrested on Wednesday evening following a standoff with law enforcement.
Quinn G. Lewis, 43, has been booked in the Flathead County Detention Center on an assault with a weapon charge.
The incident began at about 8:15 PM when the Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance with a weapon in Whitefish. Lewis had allegedly threatened to kill a family member had had pointed a firearm at him.
When law enforcement arrived, Lewis had already left the residence and was in a truck. A pursuit ensued after the truck failed to stop for police. After the pursuit ended, Lewis continued to disregard law enforcement’s instructions and exit the vehicle.
Eventually, a SWAT team and Crisis Negotiations Team were activated and were able to get Lewis to exit the vehicle and submit to arrest.
