HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The grand opening for the H. Earl Clack Museum at its new location in the Griggs Printing building in downtown Havre took place on Saturday morning.
Museum Board Chair Lela Patera provided remarks at the celebration, saying that many months of hard work have paid off.
“We’re just really proud of it, and we’re hoping that you’re proud also. And that you will continue to support us.”
Museum Foundation President Elaine Morse said this effort was made possible thanks to the generosity of the community, along with several grants.
“Lorren Schlotfeldt and the MSU-Northern plumbing group helped us a lot. The MSU-Northern football team gave us their muscles. The Lions, we’ve had private donations that paid for our handicap ramp. We’ve had grants from Browning Kimble and a Brownfields grant that helped clear up our lead based paint and our asbestos. And we had a grant that also paid for our lovely bathrooms.”
Pastor Ila McClenahan provided a prayer dedication.
“In 20 years as the Chaplain at (Northern Montana) Hospital and being involved in this community, this is one of the greatest achievements that we have had in this area, and what an honor it is.”
The new location is the permanent home for the Museum, and it provides space for future expansion and new exhibits.
