The Showdown Demolition Derby Will Erupt in Chinook Saturday Night

The Blaine County Fair Demolition Derby is returning Saturday with events starting at 6PM at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.

According to event organizer Scott Skoyen, this is one of the longest running demo derbys on the hi-line and is a huge draw for drivers and spectators. Skoyen says The regular drivers keep returning because of the integrity of the judging.

“We judge all the same. No favoritism. Build it to the rules or don’t build it.”

Skoyen goes on to say the payouts at this demolition derby has the biggest payoffs on the hiline.

“We have a $10k dollar payout. It’s paid out to one through three paying $5k, $2k, and $1K and pays a $500 mad dog which is your most aggressive throughout the whole derby. They get that and a huge trophy. We also do a chain heat which is $1500 and drivers decide if they want a winner take all or a split on that money. We also pay heat money, which depends on how many drivers we have.”

The Demolition Derby is Saturday August 13th with events starting at 6PM.
