North Central Montana Transit is facing a big obstacle. New regulations have made it difficult for them to hire new drivers. Tom Lowe, the director for North Central Montana Transit explains the challenge.
“Our biggest challenge right now is probably drivers, qualified CDL drivers. With the new regulations it has become more and more difficult to get trained drivers in the door. I think if we could address the driver situation right now, it’s very expensive to get training to get a CDL, that’s something new to us. It started Fubuary seventh of this year where you have to come out of a trained school, if you will, to get a CDL license. That’s probably the biggest obstacle that we face right now.”-Tom Lowe
