GREAT FALLS — Criminals from other states have been harming the Hi-Line area, but law enforcement has now made progress in combating the problem.
A Washington man was arrested and now convicted by a federal jury for drug trafficking crimes. Law enforcement learned that he was bringing drugs to the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation in particular, for distribution, and that he had made repeated drug runs to Montana for more than a year.
On May 12, 2022, officers arrested the man at a Great Falls gas station and found in his jacket pocket a pouch containing a bag of meth and two bags of fentanyl pills. The man later said that he was “trying to make a living.”
He was recently sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich.
