The last election ensured a significant change to Hill County’s Beaver Creek Park.
The new Lodge Levy passed, allowing the county to adjust taxes in order to fund the new lodge in Beaver Creek Park.
Lou Hagner a member of the Beaver Creek Park board explains what the results of the election mean, and why the levy was necessary.
“As everybody that voted this past November knows, we had a mill levy proposed for funding a new lodge in the park. We weren’t necessarily able to round up the grant, and local contributions have been weak but have been coming in to fund this lodge. We’re at the stage now where we have passed a levy so the county can go ahead and tax accordingly to raise the funds over the next 15 years to pay for a lodge to be installed.”-Lou Hagner
