Progress is being made regarding mitigating the hazardous lead, other heavy metals, and asbestos found primarily in the fire station portion of city hall.
Safety Committee Chair Josh Miller explains what has recently been done to begin the abatement process.
“Right now, we’re going through the bidding process which is really going to be where we find out how much this is going to cost and the full scope. So, we’ve had two contracting firms come through the building, look at it, take their photos, do whatever they need to do in order to put together a bid, and then from there the city will choose who they’re going to go with as far as the remediation process.”-Josh Miller
Bids are expected from both companies within the next couple months.
