(NMB) The Havre High Golf team got their regular season underway on Tuesday at the Lewistown invite. The Havre girls finished second and Pony boys finished third in the team standings. The girls were led by Shea Reber (Shay Ree-bur) who shot a 97 and Brenna Hanson’s 111. On the Boys side Callen Stone shot a 91 and Matt Huse shot a 92. The Blue Pony Golfers are back at it two more time this week. They are at Prairie Farms for their own Havre Invite Tomorrow (Thursday) and are on the road to Shleby Friday for the Browning Invite. Head Coach Dennis Murphy says the busy schedule with 3 different courses this week will set the tone for the year.
“Prairie Farms really tight and Shelby, our third course of the week is long. So, I think it’s a challenge for our athletes right off the bat to play those types of courses and it will help set the tone for the year, especially with our veterans we have coming back.”
After their busy schedule this week, the ponies will get some practice time before they compete next on Tuesday August 29th at the Jawbone Classic in Harlowton.
