This week will be a very busy one for former Box Elder boys’ basketball coach Jeremy MacDonald. As first reported by New Media Broadcasters back in March, he was awarded the Montana Coaches Association “Coach of the Year” for Class ‘C’ boys’ basketball after leading his squad to a fourth state title, including the third under his reign. For his efforts, he will be presented with his award on Thursday at CMR High School in Great Falls.
In addition, he has been chosen as a guest speaker at the 57th annual MCA Clinic, which features the likes of Montana head football coach Bobby Hauck, former NFL offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, and tons of other impactful coaches from around Montana high schools and the Frontier Conference.
MacDonald’s talk, which is scheduled for the day after he receives his award in person, will be fittingly titled “Uptempo BB”, which pays homage to the backcourt defense that his Bears ran throughout his over-decade long tenure. MacDonald had his last day of school as Box Elder superintendent back in June and now resides in Michigan with his wife and children.
