MSU-Northern’s basketball teams were on the road for non-conference competition over the weekend. Each squad dropped its two tournament games.
For the Skylights, they were in Great Falls at the University of Providence Classic and lost to the Masters on Friday night, (85-63) and Jamestown on Saturday night, (82-70). The Lights went down to Helena for the Carroll College Classic and did not fare well against either Southern Oregon, (82-61) or Eastern Oregon, (84-71).
Taya Trottier dished out 12 assists during the two games in Great Falls and had a team-high 17 points against the Masters. Shyan Krass was the team’s leading scorer against Jamestown, adding seven rebounds to her stat line. Canzas HisBadHorse was the second-leading scorer in both games with double digit outputs of 14 and 12, respectively.
Jack Reardon had a good weekend, averaging 18 points in the two games and going 12-for-23 from the floor. Cinque Maxwell did not miss from the field against Eastern Oregon, hitting all five of his shots for 13 points and adding five rebounds. Leon Sayers IV added 16 points against Southern Oregon on 50 percent from the field.
Both teams will get an entire week off before playing again on Mon., Nov. 18 against Dickinson State at the Armory Gym. Tip times are 5pm for the Skylights and 7pm for the Lights.
