(Havre) Hill County Commissioners Jake Strissel and Mark Peterson were at a town-hall style meeting on December 19th to discuss the possibility of opening a sewage and water line to the Old Post Road and Meadowlark Estates Communities.
The current estimated cost for the project is upwards of 8 million dollars, but response from those in attendance seemed to be in approval of exploring a water line possibility, according to Commissioner Strissel. The opinion on sewage lines seemed more mixed.
The county has already received a grant of around 40 thousand dollars to aid in planning the project and plans to double that amount with another grant.
Those against the project are encouraged to write the commission with letters of protest. If 50 percent or more of the population of the affected areas are attributed to a letter of protest, the project will be canceled and cannot be proposed again for 6 months.
