MILES CITY, Mont. — Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and Montana Audubon are calling on citizen scientists to help survey common nighthawks across the state this summer.
These migratory birds are declining and considered a species of concern.
Volunteers are needed especially in north-central, south-central, and eastern Montana.
Training is required and available online.
Surveys run through August 10 and take about an hour during dusk.
