HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off their summer programs soon, starting with Living History Day on Saturday, June 1st. Executive Director Jody Olsen says local historical attractions will come to life, with museums and other sites offering special tours. Special demonstrations and presentations will be highlighting the history of the Havre area.
“Several of the attractions do special things. We’ve got Havre Beneath the Streets, Fort Assiniboine, Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump, the Clack Museum, and we’ve got the 12th annual Northcentral Montana Everything Antique Show. And, we’ve got Notable History Among the Headstones that will be going on later that week.”
Olson says there is a lot of history to talk about in the area.
“They talked about doing, kind of a little passport. So you can get it checked at all the different places. You’ll be in for a prize drawing. So, look for all that. Look for those posters and you can make a day of it that day. That’s been going on for a long time. And you know, a lot of history, a lot of things to see and do right here in Havre.”
Living History Day attractions will be going on all day around Havre, with some starting at 9 AM and running through 5 PM.
