Havre, MT – As the calendar inches further into August Montana State University-Northern Volleyball faces opening match in Lewiston, Idaho.
With college semesters beginning across the country Skylights volleyball travels to Lewiston Idaho for their season opening match at Lewis-Clark college. The team began practicing last week in preparation.
Head coach of Skylights volleyball, Jerry Wagner, knows that a lot goes into preparing for the season and it is not just about the first game. “At this point, that first match, I’m not going to do anything to look at the other team. We’re going to face a lot of new teams this year even in conference and everyone graduates experienced players.”
Coach Wagner explained that building team confidence and in game self reliance is the approach to tomorrows season opener. “So that first outing, I don’t want to know anything about the other team, I want my team to able to look at the other side and figure things out by reading what is going on and reacting right away as best we can.”
Wagner’s team opens with a 2p.m. match time against Lewis-Clark State college, and a 6p.m. start time against Walla Walla University. Both games are at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, Friday, August 15.
