Havre, MT – On the last road trip of the regular season MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball dropped both matches for the first time a month.
The Skylights first fell in three sets at No.7 Bellevue on Friday night before struggling in a four-set loss at Dakota State.
Head Coach of the Skylights Jerry Wagner said their constancy in strong serve and serve receive play ended in the weekend watches.
“It came down to one skill, and we did not do one of the things that we count on doing all the time and have been excellent at. The one area of our game that was completely different than Normal was our serve reception.”
The Skylights gave up a combined 7 aces and 102 kills between the matches.
Despite the weekend’s losses Northern is still sitting in third place of the Frontier conference standings at 13-7 and 15-11 overall.
MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball regular season will conclude this weekend after matches with Montana Western Thursday night at 7p.m. and Montana Tech on Friday night at 7p.m.
