Havre, MT – Lights football is set to host their last home game of the season on Saturday against Valley City State.
Northern is still looking for their second win of the season sitting at 1-8. Lights Offensive Coordinator Dave Sandau said his execution for his will be the biggest key for his offense.
“Execution, Execution keeping it simple. You know when we execute we are usually successful.”
17-year-old True freshman quarterback Ethan Maroni will lead Northerns offense in just his second start of the season. Maroni is the third quarterback that has started at least one game for the Lights this season.
Coach Sandau said that playing fast not overthinking the game will be detrimental for Maroni on Saturday afternoon.
“You know he is so young. Playing fast, putting him in positions that he doesn’t have to overthink and he can get out there and plays fast and not overthink it.”
The Valey City Vikings are 5-3 on the year and coming off a victory over Dickinson state.
