Havre, MT – After starting the season on a downhill skid dropping their first six games, Havre High boys’ basketball is now gaining momentum winning three of their last four games.
According to Head coach of the Blue Ponies WaLynn Burgess the big improvement has come in two different places.
“Valuing possessions on the offensive end, you know really working to get a really good shot instead of trying to settle for quick ones, I think they are starting to realize when we start valuing possessions like that we’re able to stay in games. The main one we’ve been talking about, we knew was going to take some time, is just where our defensive intensity is and the focus on the defensive end to get stops. The kids have really bought into it.”
The Blue Ponies will be at home for the second straight week as they gear up for battle against Dawson on Saturday night. Tipoff is set for 4p.m. with the girls to follow at 5:30p.m.
