Havre, MT – Skylights Basketball battled through slow starts and pulled away for two big conference wins. Friday January 30, the Skylights defeated Dickinson State 92-82 and followed it up with a 75-70 victory against the Bismarck State Mystics on Saturday.
Head Coach of the Skylights Chris Mouat told New Media Broadcasters how his team pulled out both games.
“Well I think in both games we got a little panicked, to be honest. We had good sized leads in both games… but I thought we did a really good job of making free-throws down the stretch and eventually executing and holding both of them off.”
The Skylights shot 22 of 42 behind the arch for 52.4% and are now the number one 3-point shooting team in the country at 38.6%.
This weekend the Skylights will have a chance to break the All-time record for the most 3-pointers made in a single season in skylights history. This years team is four made threes away from tying the record with six games still to play.
