Havre, MT – MSU-Northern Lights basketball was the early March Cinderella story making their way to the Frontier Conference championship game as the seven seed, taking down No.2 seed Bellevue and five seeded Carroll on the way.
The Lights run however ended in heartbreaking fashion against Rocky Mountain College in overtime 79-77. Head coach of the Lights spoke to how hard it can be losing that close in a big moment.
“You get to that type of a loss and there’s a thousand things you look back on as coaches as players ” if I had just done this or had just done that” those are the toughest ones because it really takes only one decision different and we’re probably talking about a championship.” Said Coach Huse.
The Lights will lose three seniors this season but are preparing to return to the Frontier Conference championship game next year.
