U.S. SENATE (NMB) – U.S. Senator Steve Daines on Wednesday announced that over $1,588,000 will be directed to Montana airports, with about $1,175,000 going to Fort Benton Airport in Chouteau County and $413,000 going to West Yellowstone Airport in Gallatin County.
Last October, Daines was able to secure major wins for Montana airports when President Trump signed a five-year reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA reauthorized the Small Community Air Service Development Program, which has helped to expand service in Butte, Kalispell, Bozeman, Missoula, West Yellowstone, Helena, and Great Falls. It also authorized Essential Air Services for five years, which is critical to rural connectivity, ensuring that small, rural communities have access to the national air transportation system.
