Marathon Helps Local Economy

(Havre) – Saturday, the annual Bear Paw Marathon takes place in Havre. Past President of the Havre Chamber of Commerce Courtney Helmers explains the impact on the local economy.

“While the participants are here, they are dining, they are staying in our hotels, campsites and different lodging locations and they are also spending their money at our businesses.”

The race route will follow MT-234/ Beaver Creek Road through Beaver Creek Park into the City of Havre, finishing at Pepin Park. The highway will have intermittent traffic delays from 6am until

12pm with runners using the Northbound lane. Street closures within city limits are primarily along 6th avenue and intersecting streets from 6am until 2pm. Streets open for traffic (controlled

with monitors) include Bullhook Drive SE, 13th Street, 9th street and 6th street.

Saturday you can cheer on the Bear Paw Marathon runners at the finish line in Pepin Park.
