Missoula, MT Griz Communications – University of Montana athletics announced Tuesday that they have signed first year head coach Bobby Kennedy to a four-year contract for Griz football.
Kenndy is an experienced coach who was with the program last season and helped them reach the FCS national semifinals. He was officially hired as the head coach in February of 2026.
Prior to his time with the Griz Bobby Kennedy was the wide receivers coach at the University of Texas and helped them win the 2005 FBS national title game.
Kennedy won the 2008 FBS wide receivers FBS Coach of the year award while with the Longhorns. He has coach in nearly 20 bowl games including two BCS championships, and a Rose Bowl.
U.M. football Opens the season at home against Big Sky Conference newcomer, Southern Utah University on August 28.
