Northstar Extend Win Streak to 5

Evan Suarez – Havre, MT – Fresh off a doubleheader sweep of the Tri-County Cardinals on Monday, the Havre Northstars wasted little time building on their momentum.

With a quick turnaround on Wednesday, the Northstars traveled north to Medicine Hat and continued their dominant stretch, sweeping the Medicine Hat Knights in another doubleheader. Havre won both contests by mercy rule, extending its winning streak in impressive fashion.

The Northstars opened the day with an 18-5 victory, powered by a breakout performance from Tyson Brandon. Brandon collected four hits and drove in six runs, including a pair of triples to lead Havre’s offensive attack.

On the mound, Maddox Keller earned the win after pitching 4 1/3 innings. Keller allowed five hits and five runs—only three of them earned—while striking out two batters.

Havre carried that momentum into the second game, rolling to a 23-10 victory after erupting for 11 runs in the top of the first inning. The explosive start was highlighted by Teegan Solomons’ two-run single, setting the tone for another dominant offensive performance.

Archer Sawdey led the Northstars at the plate, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBIs.

Colin Hanson picked up the win on the mound, tossing 2 2/3 innings while allowing three hits and seven runs, with only four earned. Hanson also recorded one strikeout.

The Northstars will look to keep their winning streak alive on Saturday when they return home to American Legion Park for another doubleheader against the Fort McLeod Royals. First pitch of Game 1 is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Havre now sits in second place in Noth A American Legion standings with a 12-4 league record and a 21-16-1 overall record. The Northstars are followed closely by Vauxhall who sits with a 12-6 conference record.
