GLASGOW, Mont. (NMB) – The 25th Annual Longest Dam Race will take place this Saturday, June 15th at Fort Peck Dam.
A press release says that the race begins with the 10K and will cross 1.8 miles of the Fort Peck Dam. Participants are bused to the start of the 5K run/walk, which begins at the top of Fort Peck Dam and travels down a gravel road for about 1 kilometer and finish at Kiwanis Park. The popular one mile run/walk will be on Yellowstone Road in front of Kiwanis park, which is a flat course that is paved.
This year, they have added a non-competitive 1 mile run/walk, which will be held on the nature trail in Kiwanis Park while the competitive 1 mile run/walk will be out on the highway in front of Kiwanis Park.
The novice bike race is also across the dam and finishes at Kiwanis Park.
Registration is $25 for each participant and $5 for each additional event. Participants age 10 or younger cost $10. Runners can sign up at runsignup.com.
