MSUN Classroom Wristwatch Fundraiser Event

A unique classroom project at MSU-Northern is paying off for student scholarships and a lucky head coach. Last year, students in assistant professor Aaron Riggin’s technical sciences classes designed and manufactured their own custom wristwatches.

The students made two extra timepieces to donate back to the university community. One of those handmade watches will be auctioned off at the “We Love Northern Ball” to raise money for student scholarships. The second watch was a prize at faculty and staff orientation last week. The winner was Northern’s head men’s basketball coach, Shawn Huse, who walked away with both a one-of-a-kind watch and the original engineering blueprints.
